'Wasting my young years'
I am quickly becoming a massive London Grammar mega fan, I couldn't stop listening to 'Hey Now' and particularly liked a lot of dance mixes of the song too.
And this new release from them is .. well.. EPIC.

New stuff from Vampire Weekend:
Indie New Yorker's Vampire Weekend are back with a new album: Modern Vampires of the City, which will be released on May 14th, 2013.
And last month they released double a-side: Diane Young / Step.
Diane Young is one of those songs that you instantly like and want to play on repeat over and over again, bit of soul, bit of disco -

Step, for me required a few more listens, but now I like it just as much if not more, synthesized -

Idler's Dream.
I am a MASSIVE Oasis fan. At the age of 7 I got "(What's the Story)Morning Glory?" on cassette with a walkmen for my birthday. BEST PRESENT EVER.
I have loved every album and pretty much every song they have ever released.
But sometimes some of the loveliest things are a bit more hidden, this track 'Idler's dream' was a b-side to 'Hindu Times' and is fairly unknown as Oasis songs go.
Simple, delicate, beautiful, just Mr Noel G and a piano, you might be a little surprised.

Man of the hour (James Blake)
James Blake's new album "Overgrown" has been receiving great reviews and critical acclaim, it has even been labelled by some already as a 'masterpiece'.
The album brings together all genres and sounds - Folk, DnB, Dub-step, Electro, Rn'B and soul.. ETC ETC, you get the point. I love how experimental he's been here, and currently my favourite track is number 3 on the album:

But, I also don't want to forget the song and sound that first made me love him - Limit To Your Love, which in comparison to his new material is a fairly simple track,
well..sometimes, just sometimes, simple is all you need:

New kids on the block... The Strypes. HELLO.
I'm getting my indie head all excited... give a big welcome to The Strypes.
A rock 'n’ roll foursome from Cavan in Ireland, their sound is a bit Jake Bugg-esque and is providing rhythm and blues that has a 60s feel. These young lads are doing music a good deed indeed.
The oldest member of the band is only 17 and the youngest 15, which makes them that little more *WOW*, how can such a young band have mastered this sound so well?! They are bringing old school rock n' roll well and truly freshly into today. I'm excited.
